The Regent Park Revitalization Project is a 6 phase development project transforming Regent Park into a vibrant mixed use/mixed income community. Program participants will spend 12-14 week leaning about urban planning and development, social housing issues and factors unique to the Regent Park revitalization project. In addition, participants will have opportunities for skills development in the area of public speaking, group facilitation and event planning.

The Cabbagetown Regent Park Museum, Riverdale Farm location, was host to over 9,000 visitors from February to November 2009 despite being closed for two months due to the strike. Visitors came from as far afield as Russia, Ukraine, Australia, New Zealand, and China to name a few.

Employment Centre is located at in the heart of the community which serves as a physical connecting point for employers, residents, agencies/services and employment opportunities. Regent Park residents can access one-on-one assistance with job searching, local employment opportunities, career planning, education, training, and more. Services are available Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., or speak to staff by calling . Toronto Employment & Social Services (TESS) has also introduced Employment Opportunities System (EOS), a user-driven web-based system connecting Torontonians to employment opportunities where they can post resumes as well as seek and apply for jobs.

Tour the Farm’s scenic 7.5 acres along pathways through wooded areas, around ponds, and into butterfly-herb-flower-vegetable gardens. Visit the farm animals and chat with the farmer during daily chores. Riverdale Farm is located in a park setting in the heart of the downtown community of Cabbagetown. Admission is free and parking is only available on neighbouring city streets. Open all year round daily from 9am to 5pm. Admission is free. (including weekends and holidays)

Established nine years ago the York University / Regent Park Site is a community-based teacher education program. The site is located in the city-run Regent Park South Community Centre where university courses are taught by York Faculty and Staff. Teaching practicum placements occur in schools in the Regent Park area. Teacher Candidates also become connected to the local schools and communities through participation in volunteer Community Placement Practicums and Community School Action Projects. The program is founded on the basis of equity, diversity and social justice and Teacher Candidates are expected to introduce these values into all of their teaching and community activities. The program provides an ideal opportunity for Teacher Candidates beginning their careers in the increasingly diverse schools of our province and beyond.
