ABOUT US
Regent Park Connect is a free, informative, web-based resource for parents and teachers looking for child focused programming offered in the Regent Park area. We have recognized a need to increase awareness and accessibility to the numerous fun, educational, athletic and artistic organizations based in the immediate and surrounding community.
As York University Teacher Candidates in Regent Park schools, we have experienced firsthand a lack of advertised programs or even places to go to find out about programs. We appreciate the need for a “one stop shop” of up to date, relevant local programs for students; where teachers and parents can go for programs that are all in place to help with student success.
Regent Park Connect is intended as an easy to navigate and maintain website with a comprehensive list of programs available to Regent Park students. The site is based on a model that can easily be transferred and maintained by future York students or Regent Park community volunteers. We hope that the Regent Park Connect continues to grow and evolve with new programs, organizations, and features as Regent Park itself grows.
We are pleased to contribute to the tradition of sharing and involvement that has made Regent Park such an extraordinary place and hope that Regent Park Connect becomes a fixture in this community.
